Presentation and appearance is a huge part of how humans perceive food and particularly taste as well as flavor. Colors and plating affect the way we interpret food, and food can be made even more inviting and delicious through the use of proper presentation.
There are entire careers built around making food look good. Similar to how portrait photographers work hard to bring the best out of a human subject, food photographers work tirelessly to coax the best from food.
Working with chefs and culinary artists, it becomes possible to create some truly delicious looking dishes, like the ones I’ve showcased below.
