Ice is the solid state of water, and it forms when the temperature drops below 0 Celsius, or 32 Fahrenheit. When water freezes into ice, it forms an amazing lattice structure which gives it unique properties such as being transparent, and even forming snowflakes. Ice can be transparent, or an opaque blue-white color depending on purity and air inclusion.
While ice is important for global climate, the water cycle and ecosystems on Earth, it is also beautiful in many situations such as frozen lakes, ice on trees and of course, icicles.
